How is a Blue Fin Built?Never a Compromise! Our motto has always been "Built Blue Fin Tough". There is no compromise in the construction of our boats when it comes to strength, durability and longevity. We take pride in building fine quality boats, able to withstand the rigors of everyday use Unlike most manufacturers, our strength criteria comes from the boats function rather than cost. And, our warranties are among the best in the industry; 15-Years on all Cuttyhunk Models and a Limited Transferable Lifetime Warranty on all Offshore Models. FeaturesLook at a Blue Fin and you will find nothing but the best possible materials and hardware. Stainless steel hinges/fittings, cast stainless steel rod holders, precision console wiring with heat shrunk connections, high quality switches/pop-up breakers, high density composite foam stringer/transom core, high quality pumps and hoses, stainless steel rails and innovative options and designs. Built Blue Fin ToughMost manufacturers mask structural construction deficiencies with aesthetically pleasing exteriors. Not a Blue Fin! Our solid fiberglass lamination/construction is second to none. Using state of the art materials such as CCP ArmorFlex Gel Coat, Vinylester Barrier (skin) Coats, Bi-Axle/Multi-Directional material such as 1708, heavier Bi-Axle, mat re-enforced materials such as 3610 and 4410, each Pro-Fish Model has between 11 and 13 layers of high quality material. Weaker, resin saturating materials such as Woven Roving are not used in the Blue Fin lamination schedule. Material is overlapped at all corners resulting in 20+ layers at all stress points. Large strakes are filled solid with Hull and Deck Compound for added strength. And, all Blue Fin stringers and transoms are constructed using high density, composite foam thus further increasing the life of the boat. A Step Ahead of the CompetitionThe Multiple Planing-Surface Fast Step (MPF) is a precisely designed raised section of the hull under the waterline at the rear of the boat. When on plane the boat actually leaves an unwetted, frictionless area in between. Thus, allowing for faster planing and higher top speeds. The result is better fuel efficiency, extended range and a drier ride. In addition to tracking true, the MPF step also offers an added benefit welcomed by the offshore fisherman; an extremely stable platform while fishing in open water. |
